Auriculotherapy (Ear Reflexology)

Auriculotherapy is a treatment modality based upon the TCM concept of microsystems. In TCM,
certain parts of the body are considered to be microcosms of the whole body. The most commonly
known microsystem is the foot; referred to as "reflexology" in massage therapy. The external auricle
of the ear is another microsystem used very often in Chinese Medicine.

Auriculotherapy is effective at treating similar disorders as body acupuncture. Auriculotherapy is
particularly renowned for treating drug and alcohol addiction, smoking cessation, weight
management, and musculoskeletal pain.

Auriculotherapy utilizes a variety of techniques including small acu-pins inserted into the ear,
electrical stimulation of ear acu points, and placement of magnetic beads or seeds on the ear with
tape.
